Money makes the world go round: Ariadne auf Naxo

21-06-2017 - 25-06-2017, 20.00

Bordenhal Maastricht

On 21, 22, 24 and 25 June 2017, students of Conservatorium Maastricht and the Maastricht Academy of Performing arts will perform the opera Money makes the world go round: Ariadne auf Naxos, directed by Jeroen De Man. Ariadne auf Naxos is among Richard Strauss's most popular operas. With its refined orchestration, splendid vocal parts and multiple storylines, it offers everything a good opera needs. This version is guaranteed to offer a musically explosive and puzzling evening!

Jeroen De Man: "A Viennese man of means is throwing a party for all of his friends. Fireworks and 'all you can eat'. An opera and a farce have been ordered to entertain the guests. To save time for the party, both performances will have to be given at the same time. A ridiculous plan, but... he who pays the piper, calls the tune.

The performances are held in the Bordenhal Maastricht (Plein 1992-15, Maastricht) on 21 June 2017 at 20:00 (sold out), 22 June 2017 at 20:00, 24 June 2017 at 20:00 and 25 June 2017 at 16:00. Tickets cost €15 and are available via http://www.theateraanhetvrijthof.nl/voorstellingen/2017/06/conservatorium-en-toneelacademie-maastricht-money-makes-world-go-round-ariadne-auf-naxos3/
