The Spring Festival

11-05-2014 - 11-05-2014

We will celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday May 11th with a grand Spring Festival that will take place in the green part of Strijp. The Spring Festival will take place from 13:00-17:00. Those who travel to the event by bike will get a nice gift! Please note that there is parking for cars. All activities are free of charge.

Four Hot Spots with Activities

There will be activities organized at four hot spots, to celebrate the brand-new hiking trail called 'Strijpse Pad.'

  1. Philips de Jongh Wandel Park
Get a beautiful poem for your mom, send her a nice postcard, or get a singer songwriter or the world champion whistler to serenade your mother. You can also participate in outdoor yoga sessions.
  2. PSV Herdgang
The PSV training field will be open and you will be welcomed by Phoxy, the PSV mascot. There are football games for the entire family.
  3. Lost Boys Playground
Explore the toad pools with a self-made net and listen to exciting storytellers. A falconer provides an interactive demo and you can admire his falcons. There will be a demo of a natural horseman ship, and you can also pet and cuddle ponies.
  4. Philips Fruittuin
In addition to what you are used to enjoying at Philips Fruittuin -- their famous and delicious apple pancakes -- there will be all sorts of eco-activities to enjoy! Let your creativity run wild and create beautiful presents for your family, or join the rhythm and music workshops with apples and pears.

Collect stamps and win prizes!

You can collect stamps at every hot spot. Collect all four stamps and you can win prizes! For example, win dinner for the entire family at Novotel Eindhoven, a VIP treatment at a PSV game, or dinner at The Ketelhuis at GGzE.

Hop on the horse tram!

Too tired to walk back toward the Philips de Jongh Park? No worries! Hop on the horse tram and it will take you back to the starting point and your bike!

More accessible green area

In recent years Eindhoven has invested heavily in the area northwest of Eindhoven. Their goal was to upscale the quality of nature and the accessibility of the area.

Recently established highlights include: the International School Eindhoven's campus, the information hot spot 'PIT' at the Philips Fruittuin, and the conversion of the Oirschotsedijk from 'car racetrack' to a wonderful avenue for walkers and cyclists.

Recently, Het Strijpse Pad was finished; a hiking trail that runs between Philips de Jongh wandel Park and Philips Fruittuin. Eindhoven is organizing this Mother's Day event on May 11th to help people to discover this green area.
