West Side Story

10-07-2017 - 10-07-2017, 21:00-00:00

Vrijthof, Maastricht

The setting and entourage of André Rieu’s Vrijthof-concerts make the grand décor in which the film will be broadcasted on the silver screen. The South Netherlands Philharmonic, conducted by Wayne Marshall, will play the classics composed by Leonard Bernstein live, while the fully restored and digitalised musical film is shown.

This event is a co-production of Theater aan het Vrijthof and the South Netherlands Philharmonic and is in collaboration with West Side Story® Associates to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Theater aan het Vrijthof. It promises to be a marvellous summer’s evening, in which the musical’s message – tolerance and harmoniously living together – reconnects the audience.
