Europe has very good airplane connections and the tickets are not very expensive, especially when you fly from Eindhoven, Dϋsseldorf, or Charleroi. Low-cost airlines like Ryanair or Air Berlin will take you to almost any city in Europe. Below you will find some of the cities from which you can fly and some of the destinations.
From Eindhoven:

From Maastricht:

From Dusseldorf:
Berlin – Krakow – Manchester – Valencia – Alicante – Faro – Marrakesh – Ibiza – Girona – Mallorca – Oslo – Riga
Note: If you book well in advance, the prices of tickets to many destinations will just be a few Euros per person.
