Savoir Faire brings together NDT’s artistically most important voices in one evening. Next to a worldpremière of associate choreographer Crystal Pite, the programme contains Shut Eye (2016) by home choreographers Sol León and Paul Lightfoot.
The touching works of Crystal Pite never flinch for examining the physical abilities and the ratio between the individual and the group.

The Statement, a work produced in 2016, made the audience move to the edge of their seats. ‘I shut my eyes in order to see’. This well-known statement by Paul Gauguin forms the context of Shut Eye, which is one of the many performances created by home choreographers León and Lightfoot for NDT. It exposes the art of catching poetry in modern dance. Whereby this time the expressive music of componists Ólafur Arnalds en Bryce Dessner forms the basis.
