The next TaalTuin is coming up and we'd love to see you there 🌿
We start the morning with volunteering work at Wasven. Then there's a special workshop, with a topic connected to the nature around us. After that, we sit down together for guided conversation sessions with native Dutch speakers to practice Dutch in a relaxed setting.
There are homemade snacks and drinks from our own bakery to enjoy along the way.
It will be a great morning to meet new people, improve your Dutch and try something new.
Tickets cost 5 euros.

This event is organized by Wasven Boerderij.
TaalTuin is a recurring community event at Wasven Boerderij, a historic farm and green hub in the heart of Eindhoven. It was created to help high-skilled expats connect with the local community, practice Dutch in a natural setting and engage with Wasven's mission of sustainability and community participation.
The concept is inspired by the Taalcafé model, where internationals and Dutch speakers meet to practice the language through conversation rather than coursework. TaalTuin takes this a step further by combining it with hands-on volunteering. Participants join Wasven's regular Saturday morning volunteer activity, the Natuurwerkochtend, working alongside locals in the farm, garden or green areas. They also receive a short workshop regarding a specific theme withing sustainability/farming. The second half of the morning is dedicated to guided dialogue sessions in small groups, facilitated by native Dutch speakers, creating a low-pressure space to speak and listen.
TaalTuin was designed initially for working expats in the Eindhoven and Brainport region who want to feel more at home in the Netherlands — people who are curious about local culture, motivated to improve their Dutch, and looking for meaningful ways to spend their free time. However, all internationals are welcome/ No prior experience with volunteering or a specific language level is required. The bar is intentionally low, and support is always on hand to help start conversations and make everyone feel included.
The long-term vision is to establish TaalTuin as a structural, bi-monthly activity at Wasven, building a community of engaged internationals who return regularly and become an active part of the organization. The first edition took place in February 2026, then we had a session on the 18th of April, and we received positive feedback from participants.
