Our Expat Center Procedure is a one-stop-shop service that combines municipal registration and IND procedures into a single appointment at our offices, where representatives of the municipality and the IND offer the relevant services. Employers can submit an application with the IND while the international knowledge worker is still in their home country, and the international can begin work almost immediately after their arrival in the Netherlands.
See our Appointment at the Expat Center page for full details of the benefits of the Expat Center Procedure, who is eligible, and how to make an appointment. Also see our hiring an international knowlede worker page for details of the full process for applying for visas and residence/work permits for your international employees.
This page has additional information for employers about the Expat Center Procedure.
What does an employer need to do?
Check whether your new employee is eligible for the Expat Center Procedure, and if so, follow the relevant steps below.
For EU/EEA/Swiss citizens
Tell your new employee about the Expat Center Procedure and refer them to our Appointment at the Expat Center page so that they can make their own appointment for municipal registration, if eligible.
For all other nationalities
- Select the Expat Center in Eindhoven as the location for collecting the residence permit when you, as the employer, file an application for a residence/work permit using either the TEV or VVR procedure.
- Once you have received notification from the IND that the permit has been approved, you (or the relocator or the employee themselves) need to contact us by email to request an appointment (see the Appointment at the Expat Center page for full details).
- We email you back with a link to a form where you can enter the information we require to properly schedule the appointment. (We may request additional information before sending the link if it is not clear whether we can provide the service/s needed.)
- We process the data you have entered and send you an appointment that meets the specific requirements of the employee, and their family members if relevant.
See our services for your international employees page and onboarding page for more information on all the ways we help your international employees to settle into Brabant.
