We partnered with Spiekkleding, a company that produces items such as clothing, bags, and banners with handy phrases in Dutch and the speaker’s native language.
They made us a banner, which you might have noticed when visiting our offices, and this handy "Praat Nederlands Met Me" umbrella! This umbrella will show locals that you would like them to speak Dutch with you! Plus, you will find all kinds of useful Dutch phrases on the inside of the umbrella.
They also made us handy bags and scarves which are given out at our events, and the latest addition to the range is the Dare to Ask board game, an interactive board game that was developed to help participants explore Eindhoven while learning practical Dutch language skills. This game was developed as part of the Living In Program and the “Praat Nederlands met me” (“Speak Dutch with me”) campaign.
Dare to Ask invites players to complete quirky missions throughout the city of Eindhoven. Compete with friends to get something repaired, find a snack, or purchase the perfect gift. Identify the correct Dutch word, travel to the right location, and use the winning sentence. If an incorrect word is chosen, the focus remains on enjoyment and learning, with another opportunity to try again. Players may consult the translation on the back of a card once—the first time that card enters play. By combining exploration, language learning, and social interaction, Dare to Ask offers an engaging way to discover Eindhoven while gaining confidence in speaking Dutch.
